What if we attempt to analyse human behaviours in the same way we are used to categorise the behaviour of animals? Which are the patterns that can be outlined by looking at the way in which people engage in hostilities in order to prevail above other humans?
Aggressiveness is with no doubt present within our natural behavioural conduct, but can we be considered predators of the post-industrial world?
Within her last film performance artist and theorist Coco Fusco embodies Dr. Zira, the chimpanzee psychologist character from the Planet of the Apes films that signed the 1960s and 1970s. By reviving this peculiar character, Fusco analyses through the lens of primatology, neuroscience and evolutionary biology the Homo sapiens in order to reveal the violent and dominating behaviours of our species.
Screened at the ICA, the film will have a Skyped-in introduction by feminist theorist and technoscience philosopher Donna Haraway.
