Green smoothies, chia seeds, yoga, zumba, soya milk, almond milk, and don't forget the coconut products, the list goes on and on. In fact, it seems today reaching the ultimate health goal is close to impossible. When one finally feels as though they have embodied the 'go-to' balanced living, new products are discovered as older ones suddenly become demonised. In a time when destructive habits and pass-times are inherently drilled into our existence, health seems to have become the ultimate consumable product.
Described as a cultural fitness exercise, Physique of Consciousness takes the form of a performance comprising movements derived from dance, gymnastics and different forms of exercise, alongside spiritual and cultural rituals.
Physique of Consciousness, produced by MadeIn Company, plays with the history and politics of mass exercise in China, alongside ideas of health, well-being and spirituality and the industries around them that we consume today.
